South Korean classical pianist

Hai-Kyung Suh (Korean:&#;서혜경; Hanja:&#;徐彗景; born March 7, ) is a South Korean classical pianist living in New York. She is known for her rich, round tone, and singing voice-like phrasing,[1] characteristics of the Romantic style of piano playing that was predominant in the Golden Age of pianism.[2]

Early life and education

Suh was born in Seoul, Korea.

She started playing the piano at the age of five, and made her orchestra debut at the age of 11, with the National Symphony Orchestra of Korea, performing Mozart's Piano Concerto No After studying in Japan with Kiyoko Tanaka, she moved to New York at the age of 15 to continue her studies first at the Mannes College of Music with Nadia Reisenberg, and then at the Juilliard School with Sascha Gorodnitzki.
