Catriona Elisa Magnayon Gray was born on January 6, , in Cairns, Queensland, Australia to Ian Gray, an Australian of Scottish descent, and Normita Ragas Magnayón, a Filipina.
Raised in Australia, she earned her bachelor's degree in Music Theory from the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.
